I pigged out last night. Brownie, dark chocolate, cheddar rice snacks, was there more? I was hungry! I was 200 yesterday. I expected to be more today but I was 197.6. Let’s look at the data.
I always start the week high on Monday coming off the weekends. I end any fasting and dieting Sat night and don’t resume until Mon morning. You can see I have weighed in lower each day since Monday.
Calorie intake was low Mon-Tue and activity level was high. I spent those days outside working on a mini-barn. I expected to weigh in a lot lower than I did Tue-Wed. If I didn’t have good data I would probably have been very frustrated.
Today I am going to look at my calorie balance.
That tall gray bar looks concerning but it isn’t much to be concerned about. I will show you why in a minute. It suggests I have had a 300 calorie per day surplus over the last week! That can’t be right!
The blue line is a rolling average of the calorie deficit/surplus and provides a better indication of the actual state of things. It shows a slight deficit.
The ~300 calorie surplus is a result of the week to week comparison of column “C”. I can see by looking at previous weeks that the low number last week was more of a fluke than the norm.
